Reliable Commercial Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Services in VIC

When seeking a cooling system for your home or business that is efficient, cost-effective and eco-friendly, an evaporative cooling system should be top of the list. With current concerns regarding the impact on the environment from technology plus the ever-increasing cost of living, an evaporative cooling system provides the superior alternative to air conditioning for creating an optimal healthy indoor environment throughout the whole house that is eco-friendly and bank account friendly.

How does Evaporative Cooling work?

Evaporative cooling, sometimes known as swamp cooling, takes advantage of one of the most efficient and oldest known means of cooling - water evaporation. Consisting of a central cooling unit connected to a series of outlets throughout your home. The cooling unit draws in fresh air and passes it through the moistened pads to cool and filter it before distributing through the ductwork and into your rooms - just like a cool, refreshing breeze. The result is fresher, natural air powered by a system which is more economical to run when compared to refrigerated Air Conditioning. Best of all, it keeps your home consistently cool when the doors and windows are open, making it perfect to enjoy the summer in alfresco style.

Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Evaporative Cooler

Because evaporative coolers work differently than standard air conditioning units, you’ll need to rethink how you operate them to get the most efficient cooling. Try these tips for the coolest, most comfortable air possible:

Open the Windows

Unlike standard Airconditioning in which you try to keep your home tightly sealed to keep cold air in, evaporative coolers require a steady stream of fresh air. An open window near the area you want cool allows dry, warm air to be drawn into the cooler for quick evaporation and distribute the cool air through the house to the open window. Open windows also allow the humidified air stream from the cooler to escape so your home doesn’t feel too clammy. It can take practice to learn how far to crack your windows for optimal comfort, so feel free to experiment with the indoor air until you’re happy.

Refresh the Water Supply

If you don’t use your cooler for an extended period, be sure to empty and clean the reservoir to avoid the growth of mould and mildew in wet areas. This will keep your evaporative cooler functioning well and your air quality clean. Most new systems come with a built in feature to do this automatically for you.

Size Your Cooler Correctly

Before you buy, make sure to check the recommended square metres that the cooler covers and measure your room to size the cooler appropriately. With the help from one of our experience sales members Bendigo refrigeration will be able to size the right cooling unit for your needs
